Trader Joes is great for organic products, but even some of their non-organic products are good. Here are the main products that we use from TJs…
We prefer raw milk. But while in New Mexico, we did not have access to it. So we purchased the following milk from TJs. Also, when we moved here, we did not immediately have access to raw milk. We used this temporarily again. Raw milk is preferential. But the next best thing is non-homogenized, gently pasteurized, which this Cream Top Milk is.

Organic Butter. We use the salted since the non salted often contains that “natural flavors” that could be indicative of MSG.

Raw Cheddar Cheese. This raw cheese is quite crumbly, but works great in salads or over scrambled eggs.

Shredded cheese – this is not raw or organic, but it does not come from cows that are raised on rBST. I use this shredded cheese on meals in which I am heating the cheese, like burritos, quesadillas, omelettes, pasta dishes, etc.

My children love to snack on these Hearts of Palm. I also chop them into salads occassionally.
I do not have a picture of Dolmas. They are an appetizer or snack of rice wrapped in grape leaves. They are delicious.
I always look for grass-fed beef.

We use about 1-1.5 lbs. per dinner.

Free range eggs. Cage Free Eggs. Fertile eggs. $2.29/dozen ~ These are less expensive per dozen than factory eggs at Super Target!

Leg of Lamb…
This is not always in stock, but when it is, I grab a few legs and put them in the freezer. One leg will give me 3-5 meals.

Organic frozen broccoli.

Organic frozen raspberries for kefir shakes.

Organic frozen wild blueberries for pies and kefir shakes.

Flourless Sprouted Whole Wheat Bread. Next best thing to homemade sourdough.

Homemade Salad dressing ingredients.

Organic Aloe Vera Juice.

Organic hummus to use as dip for corn chips or veggies.

Ice cream to use with chocolate syrup.

Pingback by Shop Healthy « Living, Loving & Learning February 18, 2008 @ 4:38 amAh! Here it is! I was waiting for it to appear on our message board, but didn’t want to ask and look pushy….duh..check Kristy’s BLOG!!!!! I took pics of all my recently bought stuff too and will be posting soon and asking questions (on the board). This will be a great start.
As for that Aloe Juice…Do you just drink it?
And as for the Balsalmic Vinegar..there is a sign warning about levels of I think lead and that it can cause deformations or some such thing yada yada in pregnant ladies. Is that just bunk or what? I’d avoided it because of the silly sign.
Do you just stir in the cream on that cream top stuff?? Shaking it doesn’t do the trick. I had to tell my boys that the blobs of cream were yummy. They freaked a little.
Maybe these are better questions for the board??? LOL
Love this post and thanks for making it!
